A Luxurious Experience At Spa by La Prairie
by Michele Elyzabeth
Relaxation has a different meaning for each of us, but for me, it has always been synonymous with pampering. Since I was 18 years old, I started frequenting spas. A monthly facial was a must. This is when I first developed my love and appreciation for beauty and the treatments offered by companies.
To my delight, there are many fantastic spas around the world and I never miss the occasion to try as many as possible. Living in Los Angeles, we are so lucky to be able to choose from an array of remarkable ones. I recently experienced La Prairie Spa, located in the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel on the Promenade level of the hotel. La Prairie Switzerland offers some of the most performant products and has been in the forefront of the anti-aging revolution for the past half century. Its menu is quite extensive and includes their unique cellular facials and therapeutic massages all performed in an exquisite environment of luxury which transports you to the perfect world.
I have to admit that it was difficult to decide which one to try from the 40 different remedies, but I settled on the anti-aging facial. It’s described as follows:
La Prairie’s anti-aging collection is a 60 minute treatment which repairs and rejuvenates the skin while combating various signs of aging. Advanced complexes rebuild skin’s firmness and elasticity, and deliver superior hydration. These facial features a glycolic peel to enhance La Prairie’s revolutionizing formulas.
Just what I needed.
I booked an early appointment and arrived at 9:00 am on a Saturday morning where I was met by my aesthetician, Erin. I was directed to the changing room and given a locker for my personal effects. Nothing was missing, robe, shoes, the room was equipped with a sink, a powder area with tooth brush, mouth wash, shaving kit, hand cream, combs, hair dryer and a sauna. Luxury to the hilt.
Great elegance and attention to details have been brought to the facility (a well-known signature of the Beverly Hills Hotel). It is the perfect place to rejuvenate and distress. The Spa has six treatment rooms, including two couples’ suites and separate steam rooms and saunas for men and women. Once in the room, the journey began.
First Erin used the Purifying Cleanser to remove all traces of makeup and impurities while under the steam.
It was followed by an exfoliator.
3. A 3 minutes cellular peel, accompanied by a “decolte” massage, the extraction (my least favorite part of the facial, but you have to do it).
4. Then came the anti-aging stress cream, recommended for day and night, herbal based cream which relaxes lined areas, naturally improves firmness, elasticity. Texture and clarity with continued use.
5. The cellular hydra lift firming mask, during which I was treated to a hand and arm massage.
6. The power infusion. Skin-Caviar Crystalline Concentrate nutrient-rich serum rebuilds, re-plumbs, re-firms and reignites luminosity in the skin, recovers the skin youthful look with peptides, amino acids, marine algae and plant extracts.
7. The eye contour cream which offers one solution for all signs of aging, maximum amount of firmness, hydration and reduction of under eye puffiness.
8. Followed by the liquid lift serum, a true age defying phenomenon providing firmness and tautness to skin that gives way to an instant lift.
And for the finish, the Cellular Radiance Gold a multi-tasking serum lifts, firms, hydrates, texturizes and brightens skin using rare ingredients, including 24 K gold.
And then, unfortunately, it was over. I could have stayed there all day. It was just grand and I recommend it to everyone.
If you are visiting or staying in Los Angeles do not hesitate to try The Beverly Hills Hotel Spa by La Prairie. I promise you will not regret it.
